The Church Fathers' Support of Sola Scriptura
The early church fathers appealed to neither Tradition nor a Magisterium but to Scripture alone as their authoritative source of truth. Heinrich Bullinger, who has been called "the father of the Reformed churches," was led to the position of Sola Scriptura as a result of reading the church fathers. The position of Roman Catholicism is ironically not consistent with the early church fathers, and can be best described as Sola Roma.
